Arsenal midfielder Mesut Özil has invested in The Lewin Sports Injury Clinic, a rehabilitation facility in Essex established by Colin and Gary Lewin in 2019. The partnership sees Mesut, formerly a colleague of Colin’s at Arsenal FC from 2013 to 2018, join Aaron Ramsey and Petr Cech as backers for the clinic.
The Lewin Sports Injury Clinic provides an unrivalled, individualised care pathway from injury to return-to-sport for every day athletes. Colin and Gary Lewin have decades of experience working in the Premier League and at international level and have links to experts from all fields of medicine across London, the UK and Europe. The facility provides an environment synonymous with elite athletes, for all.
Mesut Özil said of the announcement: “I’m delighted to join the team, as well as Petr and Aaron who I played with, by investing in the Clinic. I spent five years with Colin at Arsenal and always really valued his care, and the way he worked with me and the other players. It has always been a relationship of mutual respect and I’m really happy to get involved in such a great business opportunity.”
Colin Lewin commented: “We are delighted to welcome Mesut to the LSIC family. He’s got vast experience of playing at the top level for both club and country, and knows that best-in-class care can make all the difference to athletic performance. Having him on-board at the clinic recognises the work we are doing in getting every day athletes back to their best, regardless of age or sport discipline.”
Gary Lewin added: “The clinic has gone from strength to strength since opening late 2019, with such a variety of patients coming to be assessed and helped back to performing. Having Mesut, along with Aaron and Petr on-board, reaffirms our approach and care pathway - something Colin had the pleasure of helping them with day to day when working together at Arsenal.”
The Clinic is the only physiotherapy facility in West Essex/East London which brings together physiotherapists with vast experience and knowledge in the management, treatment and rehabilitation of sports injury, creating a state-of-the-art environment to facilitate patients striving to improve.
